Gu Muchen is the ghost of a talented, incredibly beautiful chess player who died as a teenager, poisoned by a member of his family. After his death, enraged by his heartless family, he invited evil spirits into the manor and led them to massacre his entire family, all servants included. Soon after, the house was left deserted, nobody daring to buy it and live inside due to the rumors of the dreadful deaths, and fear of getting cursed.

Although he uses his hair as a weapon and revenge tool, he cherishes it beyond measure because his mother loved to comb his hair when he was little, before her death.

A cruel ghost, but a playful child who never had a real childhood, living in isolation as the son of an unfavored concubine.

Huli used to be the companion of a cultivator. After that cultivator passed, the fox refused to eat and slept every day in the tree under which his master ascended as an immortal. After his death, the fox became a spirit, bound to that tree, unable to ever leave it. If he tried to go down, he would be pulled back up. A long time had passed since the spirit lived in that tree, hundreds or even thousands of years. Nobody knows exactly how long. But with time, the fox forgot its name. The only things that remained with him were the few precious memories of his master and a beautiful fan he used when alive.

Although Huli can take any form he wants, he prefers the appearance of his master. His master's fan is also his weapon.

​

He often lures living humans into his tree and asks them to tell him  stories. He then sets them free after erasing their memories.
